With over 25 years in the UK film industry, Rob Deacon spearheaded creative, award-winning and insightful publicity campaigns on blockbuster and arthouse, theatrical and streaming releases, international top tier festival campaigns, festival press offices and event media management. Career campaign highlights include The Artist, Mad Max: Fury Road, TAR, Brokeback Mountain, Boiling Point, The Reader, Babel, Jarhead, Inherent Vice, Little Children, Hotel Rwanda, I’m Still Here, The Filth and the Fury, sex&drugs&rock&roll, Wolfs, The Hobbit trilogy, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Pixar’s Turning Red and Brave, Studio Ghibli’s The Boy and the Heron and Cannes Film Festival international campaigns for Grand Prix winners Oldboy and Blackkklansman.

Rob also ran LFF and EIFF press offices, operational media management for dozens of Premieres including the Royal Premiere for War Horse, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator and Tom Ford’s A Single Man. Written materials included productions notes for The Damned United as unit publicist and WB-generic material commissions included Fantastic Beasts, War Dogs, Me Before You, Suicide Squad, King Arthur, Live By Night and Sully.

Rob Deacon also recently served as the Interim Head of Communications at BBC Film from August 25 – February 26 during which time BBC Film backed films received 12 BAFTA nominations, 9 Academy Award nominations, 9 wins across 6 films at the BIFAs from an initial haul of 39 nominations, 3 Venice Film Festival Critics Week awards and 1 Toronto International Film Festival award. Closer to home Rob managed a fivefold increase of BBC Film Instagram followers during his tenure and oversaw the UK theatrical roll outs of the diverse slate including the box office successes Pillion, Sentimental Value and The Choral. Rob has also provided his consultant publicity services in the past for UK film public bodies the British Film Institute and the British Film Commission.
